Oil relay switch? No such switch on this vehicle.
There is no relay, only a pressure switch that is wired directly to the instrument cluster with no relay in between. The pressure switch is located right next to the oil filter on a 4.6 or a 5.4 liter, and it is sticking out of the driver's side of the timing cover on a 4.2 liter.
There is no inertia switch on the Chevy truck it runs from the ecm , oil pressure switch and relay.
you will probably need to change heads gaskets
The step-by-step instructions on how to change a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier LS 2.2l electrical-switch relay oil pressure switch is not stated, it is best to download a free Chevrolet Cavalier manual for further information.
Find the leak and fix it.
the oil pressure switch islocated at the topback of the engine behind and the distributor. the fuelpump relay is located on the driver side firewall next to the power brake boster. there are two of them the one on the left is the fuel pump relay the other relay is for the intake manifold tuning valve assembly.
Its right by the oil pen can't miss it. On plug, on screw.
Easy.... Step 1: Remove oil filter (switch is above the filter) Step 2: Disconnect wire from the switch Step 3: Using a socket, remove old switch Step 4: Install new switch and connect wire, then re-install or replace oil filter All done!
You are referring to two separate things. The fuel pump has a relay and not a switch. The oil filter does not have a switch but the oil pressure has a sending unit that sends a pressure reading to the gauge. Some cars have an oil pressure switch that incorporates a circuit to shut the engine down in case it were to loose oil pressure.
I have an 83 aircooled vanagon camper...so far it has been very reliable. Just remember to check/change oil and take care of it.
4.8 quarts after a filter change.
