The battery is in the back of the car, under the storage compartment follr. You cantake this all apart if you want, but there is an easier way. Open the hood and look on the driver's side, along the edge of the opening, above the tire. YOu will see a black box, about 12" long and 5" wide, with "fuses" printed on it. On the side of this box is a small panel, about 4" by 1", with a plus sign on it. You can pop this up (it's hinged) and you will see a metal bolt sticking up This is the positive terminal. Hook the red jumper cable to this post, and hook the other end of the red cable up to the other car's battery positive post. Next to the big fuse box, you will see 3 small bolts with wires under them. You can hook the black cable end to these bolts. When you hook up the other end of the black cable, hook it to the other car's engine or body, not to the battery. You will make sparks when you hook up the last connection, and if you do it on the battery, there is a possibility the battery can explode. massvolvoman

Hello The diagnostic hookup is located beside the hood popping lever. It has a cover that you just pop open to access the diagnostic connector where the obdII plugs into. I have a Volvo V70 T5 2001.
sell your car dude!
The 2003 V70 should be the same as my 2001 V70. It is located underneath the vehicle near the passenger rear tire. (RR)
To jump-start a 2002 Volvo V70, first ensure both vehicles are turned off. Connect the positive (red) jumper cable to the dead battery's positive terminal, then attach the other end to the working battery's positive terminal. Next, connect the negative (black) cable to the working battery's negative terminal and attach the other end to a metal ground point on the dead car, away from the battery. Start the working vehicle, let it run for a few minutes, then try to start the Volvo.
where is the pnp swich on my v70 volvo
I don't know about a 2001, but on a 99 v70 it is located in center console glove box between driver and passenger seat.
