Step one:Make sure the trunk is always open or you could be locked out of your trunk forever.
Step 2:unlatch the top from the inside like normal.
Step 3:Take the wrench looking tool that came with the car (should be in your toolkit) There is a round hole inside the trunk (on the top inside the trunk) that will fit the Allen looking part of the wrench. It is hard to get it to fit perfectly but you will fill it slide into place eventually. When it does turn it and then the back of your soft top with unlach.
Step4:Take the same wrench tool and use the wrech side of the tool. In the center of the car directly behind the back seat slide the wrech between the seat and the top lid. there is a spot that the wrench will fit over and turn it and that will release your top lid.
Step5:lower the top down inside the hole after you open the lid.
Step6:Close the lid and latch it with your wrench tool the same way you unlached it.

To put the roof down on a Mercedes CLK 230, you typically need to engage the convertible top switch, which is usually located on the center console. Ensure the vehicle is stationary and that the parking brake is engaged before operating the roof. The rear bar, often referred to as the wind deflector or tonneau cover, is usually stored in the trunk or behind the rear seats when not in use. Always consult the owner's manual for specific instructions related to your vehicle's model year.

DO NOT PUT ANY ANTIFREEZE IN YOUR MERCEDES. At the back of the engine compartment there is a plastic reservoir with a black cap. Check you owners manual please. Only the recommended antifreeze should be used. Many use Xerex G-05, available at Napa and maybe Pep Boys. Any other may shorten the life of your water pump and create excessive corrosion.
