To open the bonnet of a Seat Ibiza, first locate the bonnet release lever inside the vehicle, usually found on the driver's side, near the footwell. Pull the lever to release the initial latch. Then, go to the front of the car, slide your hand under the centre of the bonnet to find the safety catch, and lift the bonnet while pushing the catch to the side. Finally, secure the bonnet with the prop rod, if applicable.

If the bonnet release cable is broken on a 1996 Seat Ibiza, you can try accessing the latch mechanism directly. Use a flathead screwdriver or similar tool to carefully pry open the grille or reach through the front of the car to manipulate the latch. If you're unable to reach it, you may need to remove the grille or fender liner for better access. Alternatively, consider seeking professional assistance to avoid damaging the vehicle.
