It hinges the wrong way, the hinge is at the front of the bonnet
Its under the glove compartment on the passengers side on my Clio on ours 1998 open passenger door and its on side panel and under the bonnet on top of the screen wash bottle is a small fuse box
its well hidden... when u open the bonnet have a look wher the wiper blade arms are and its next to the right hand side arm. right on the top
passenger side under glove box there is a pull lever, this will release your bonnet.
if it is the same as my 2002 Clio it should slide open if you push down on it and in the direction of the key http//www.beaucroft.co.uk

you pull the bonnet release in car then under bonnet there is black button thingy you pull out and lift bonnet. hope this helps
the fuses in a clio can be found on the nearside side of the dashboard if you open the door there is a cover they should be inside there
