Look for a lever under the dashboard. Pull the lever and you should hear the bonnet (US = hood) release a little. Look at the front of the car and you should see a small safety cash sticking out of the grill. Pull on the latch and the bonnet should be released enough for you to lift it.

To open the bonnet of an Opel Astra Life, first, locate the bonnet release lever inside the vehicle, typically found on the driver's side, near the footwell. Pull the lever to release the bonnet latch. Next, go to the front of the car, slide your hand under the bonnet to find the secondary latch, and lift the bonnet up. Secure it with the prop rod if necessary.

The lever is on the drivers side, below the steering wheel on the right side, near the pedals. Then pull the tab that has popped out at the front grill. If the lever is broken, you can try using 2 people to open the bonnet: Get someone to pull the release lever below the steering wheel TOWARDS them. While they are pulling it towards them you can go stand in front of the bonnet and press down firmly on the middle/end of the bonnet (above the emblem) until you hear a click. The tab in the grill should then pop out for you to pull, and the bonnet should open like normal when you pull the tab
