Pull the primary hood release near the left side kick panel of the driver's seat. The secondary release is inside the center Mercedes Star on the grill of the car. Took 3 others and me to finally find the secondary release the other day.
Look inside the middle triangle of the MBZ logo...
Open the hood and look see. If you see an A/C compressor then it is equipped with A/C.
To open the hood of a Mercedes SL 500, first locate the hood release lever inside the vehicle, typically found on the driver's side, near the footwell. Pull the lever to release the primary latch. Then, go to the front of the car, slide your hand under the center of the hood to find the secondary latch, and lift the hood while releasing this latch. Once lifted, secure the hood with the prop rod if necessary.
ARE you wonderig wear the lever is that you pull, or where the hood latches?
hood release is pulled from the inside of the vehicle near the front of the door opening by your feet. then look for a pull tab under the MB star on the front grill.

To fill the washer fluid on a Mercedes 500 SL, open the hood and locate the washer fluid reservoir, which is typically marked with a windshield/water symbol. Remove the cap and pour the washer fluid into the reservoir until it's full, being careful not to overfill. Replace the cap securely before closing the hood. Always use a washer fluid suitable for your climate to ensure optimal performance.
Unlock the door with your key, and pull the hood release.

I bought a 1992 300SL and the seats were so hard that I thought something was wrong. So I went to a showroom and sat in the seat of a 1998 500SL, same hard seats. To remedy the problem I had my upholstery specialist take my seats apart and replace the German horsehair/hard rubber fabric with modern foam rubber. The seats are much more comfortable now but not as comfortable as my Volvo. The Volvo also has cup holders, the Mercedes does not, which helps understand the hard seats.
