Yes, there is a latch mechanism to the trunk (or boot) of a Jaguar vehicle. Typically, it can be opened using a button inside the car, a key fob, or a manual release located near the trunk itself. If you have lost the keys to a 2002 Jaguar XJ8 and the car is locked, you cannot activate the inside trunk release without access to the vehicle's electrical system. The trunk release is typically linked to the vehicle's central locking system, which requires the key or key fob to unlock. In this situation, you may need to contact a locksmith or your local Jaguar dealer for assistance in unlocking the car or accessing the trunk. Alternatively, you could consider contacting roadside assistance.
