Well, fact is, you shouldn't pop the hood from the front. You should pop it from the lever on the driver's side if at all possible. But if the cable is broken and you have no other choice: The latch is dead center of the car, just above the VW logo in the grill. You should see where the cable is or was hooked into the latch that holds the hood down. Get a pair of pliers, grab onto this lever and pull it to the right (like what the cable would do if you pulled the lever) and the latch should release.
stand in the front center of the car-reach under with your right hand-you will feel the lever - pull towards you to pop the hood

That was tricky, you have to open the hood from front using your keys. Go to the front of the car, rotate the "FORD" label (located at the middle) upward. Behind it, there you can insert the key and tilt it to the left, then to the right, and the hood will pop up! That was a discovery! CHeers

To pop open the hood of a car, first locate the hood release lever inside the vehicle, usually found on the driver's side near the left footwell or under the dashboard. Pull the lever to release the hood latch. Then, move to the front of the car and locate the secondary latch, which is typically found at the center or side of the hood. Push or lift this latch to fully open the hood.
