Hi, if you are still looking. gas engine Jetta: remove negative battery cable. remove positive cable on alternator. remove blue wire on alternator. Loosen and remove mounting bracket (on top of alternator) be careful not to lose any of this bolt (very hard to find replacements). Remove alternator belt. REmove lower mounting bolt. Remove from engine. Reverse to install. All done. diesel Jetta: mounting bracket is on the bottom and engine mount is on the top. that's the only difference. same procedure. have fun!
You can't remove the governor because it does not have one. The revolutions of the engine and top speed are controlled by the ECU.
On the governor, there is a black plastic cap. Remove cap. Inside is a screw. This screw will will adjust the governor.
