How do u get the cable into the gear box out
Yes, I have it done on mine. The MK3 2.0 gearbox fails when it gets to high mileage. The Mk2 1.8 gearbox is bulletproof.
Need more detail... Which mk1 and which mk2? (Year/Engine/Spec/Box type, ie '83 1.8 GTI, Manual) Depends on gearbox fitted to either.
yes i just put my 8v box on my 16v bolts straight on
No, a Mk3 Golf GTI gearbox will not fit a Mk2 GTI directly. The two models have different gearbox mounting points and designs, which means modifications would be necessary for it to fit. Additionally, the Mk3 features a hydraulic clutch system, while the Mk2 uses a cable-operated system, further complicating compatibility.
No they fit different, although mk2 and mk3 and some mk4 polo gearboxes will fit. You want an 8P gearbox.
9a gearbox
Depend on what kind of a gearbox it is. But normal 5 speed or 4 speed is like this. You need to loosen the clutch wire first. Then remove the bolts for the driveshafts if you what them out with..its easier that way:) Then loosen the bolts going thru the starter. And then the bolts around the gearbox housing..should be 3-4 18-19mm bolts. Then a few smaller bolts i between the big once. There is also a metal arm from the gearbox where the negative from the battery are fixed. There should 2pcs 13mm bolts...you should really also search for vw golf mk2 gearbox change on youtube if you what a more complex answer.

On a Mk2 Fiat Punto, the speed sensor is typically located on the transmission, near the output shaft. It can be found on the driver's side of the vehicle, mounted on the gearbox. To access it, you may need to lift the car and remove any protective covers or components obstructing the sensor. Always consult a repair manual for specific details regarding your vehicle model.
