To remove and replace the fuel pump on a 1996 Jaguar XJ6, first, relieve the fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and starting the engine until it stalls. Disconnect the battery, then access the fuel pump by removing the rear seat and the fuel pump access cover. Disconnect the fuel lines and electrical connectors from the pump, remove the retaining ring, and take out the old pump.
