To remove the handbrake cover on a Vectra, first ensure the vehicle is in gear or the parking brake is applied for safety. Gently pry off the cover using a flathead screwdriver or a trim removal tool, starting from the back and working your way to the front to avoid damaging the clips. Once loosened, lift the cover off the handbrake lever. If necessary, check for any screws or clips that may need to be removed for complete detachment.

To replace the handbrake cable on a 1998 Vauxhall Vectra 1.8, start by safely lifting the car and removing the rear wheels for access. Disconnect the old cable from the handbrake lever inside the car and under the vehicle at the calipers. Install the new cable by routing it through the same path, attaching it at both ends, and then reconnecting it to the handbrake lever. Finally, adjust the tension as needed to ensure the handbrake functions properly.
