To get the seat base out, grab it, lift up a little and pull it out. The back comes out with two huge Torx screws. An Allen wrench might work.
Push up on the front of the back seat. I usually "pop" the seat with the palm of my hand then the seat comes right out.

yes I would not recommend doing this, as the seat frames are different, a bug seat is higher than a Ghia seat, not sure if the bug seat and ghia seat have the same frame rails, however, might be a problem with headroom. The Ghia is substantially lower than a bug, the front seat area is both wider, and a bit longer than on a bug, and seats would generally not be considered interchangeable.
Look under the back seat. It should be on the tunnel by the access plate for the shifter tube.
It is on a metal plate riveted to the body behind the spare tire. It is stamped into the frame under the rear seat. Remove the seat and it is stamped on top of the tunnel in the middle of the car.
