To repair a stuck minivan rear hatch, first inspect the latch mechanism for any visible obstructions or debris. If the latch is jammed, try using a lubricant like WD-40 to loosen it. If the electronic release is malfunctioning, check the fuse and wiring connections. If these steps don't resolve the issue, you may need to remove the interior panel to access and manually engage the latch.
Key backup?

If the rear hatch on a 1997 Honda Passport will not open with the remote cable, it can still be opened from the outside. After opening from the outside, repair the cable.
The rear hatch stuck on my 2002 Vue and would not open with the remote. I opened it with the key and then sprayed it with WD-40. I haven't had any trouble since. Malcolm moose
my back passenger seat belt is stuck it wont release
If a rear hatch door is stuck, start by checking for any visible obstructions or debris around the latch area. Try gently tapping on the hatch while pulling the release handle to see if it dislodges. If that doesn't work, you can access the interior panel (if possible) to manually release the latch mechanism. In extreme cases, consulting a professional may be necessary to avoid damaging the vehicle.
It will yank off, you have to be aggressive with it, mine didn't break, but it is really not wanting to come off if the hatch is froze shut...
