To replace the fuel pump on a 2004 Astra 1.4, first, disconnect the car battery and relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls. Next, access the fuel pump assembly, which is usually located under the rear seat or in the trunk, by removing any necessary covers. Disconnect the fuel lines and electrical connectors, then remove the pump assembly from the tank. Install the new pump by reversing the disassembly steps, ensuring all connections are secure before reconnecting the battery and testing the system.
