For my 2001 Honda Passport, I paid $420 to have the water pump and timing belt replaced in October 2008.
Torque specs for WATER PUMP Mercedes 420 SEL are: 7.3 diesel and 15 to 18 foot pounds of torque
Having water pump replaced to my 2004 focus today by garage. They and others have said the cam belt/timing belt may as well be replaced at the same time as it drives the water pump and needs removing to access the pump. Have had quotes from £320 to £420 (inc VAT).
On the side of the water pump (not 100% on this where the lower radiator hose goe in to the housing on the pump)
on the back inside the pipe it self
the headlight on a rover 420 is adjusted by a 13mm plastic nut which is either nearest the wing end of the light or in the middle of the unit or by the two 10mm retaining bolts on top of the light that hold it to the car body
To remove the starter solenoid on a 1998 Rover 420 diesel, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Then, locate the solenoid, which is typically mounted on or near the starter motor. Disconnect the wiring harness and unscrew any mounting bolts securing the solenoid in place. Finally, carefully pull the solenoid off the starter and replace it with a new one if necessary.

I am on the shop right now with same issue on an 04. I was quoted about $420 from an independent that I trust...but I feel he is a little high. It's a pump, 3 hrs of labor and 2 g of antifreeze.
