You can reset your trip milage by pressing the black stick/button below rev counter. The total milage can't be reset for obvious reasons.
The other black stick to the left below the speedo is for twisting left or right to set the hours and minutes on your clock.

For the Golf Mk 4 there are ISO-adapters available. Get one of those and the stereo will plug right in.

if you're speaking of the R32 it is a 3.2L 6 cylinder with 240 horsepower. If you're speaking of a regular golf it has a 2.0L 4 cylinder with 130 horsepower. If you're speaking of the GTI it is 1.8 turbocharged 4 cylinder with 160 horsepower.
it will affect (weaken) your transmission if you have an automatic tranny! but a manual tranny can handle it!
