I have got close to 400 miles on a full tank with my 02 Beetle
The engine serial number on a 2.0 new Beetle engine is located on the crankcase. It is at the alternator support flange.
Most gas engine cars can easily reach 200k+ miles if properly maintaned before needing major reconditioning. Diesel engine cars can probably double that, the motor anyway.
You can not. The two cars are completely different...the New Beetle has the engine at the wrong end. The New Beetle is bigger than the Old.

Well for starters, the 'New Beetle' has the engine located in the wrong place. ;-) It's in front, not in back like the original Bugs. Other key differences are that the New Beetle is water vs. air cooled on the older cars. The new model also has many modern day amenities, the classic Bugs were fairly minimalistic in design.
The current records are 19 in a New Beetle, and 17 in a 1971 Beetle.
The Volkswagen New Beetle first entered production in October 1997 in Wolfsberg, Germany. The New Beetle model was different to the original model as it was built with its engine in the front and luggage space in the rear.
You can't - it's controlled by the engine management system.
At least 200,000 miles.
