That really just depends on the car and if it's a 4,5,or a 6 speed.
It would not likely be cost effective to convert the transmission. It would cost several thousand dollars, but it is doable.
Yes you can, but generally the differences between manual and automatic transmissions go far deeper than just the transmissions to the point where it would be more cost effective to simply sell your current car and buy a manual one.
it depends on what kind of car, how much of parts inventory you personally have, and how much work you are planning on doing.............
By selling this car and buying another one with a manual. Unless you have a donor car, with all the parts, this would be cost prohibitive.
yes
No! You can replace it with a manual, but an A/T cannot be converted.
Sell your auto and buy a manual car.
since you're replacing an auto tranny with a manual the trannies themselves will cost $3K if you have a mechanic do it. if you do it yourself (and you have all the tools) the transmissions will be the same price (minus the labor costs).
You cannot convert an automatic transmission to a manual one, but you can replace the automatic with a manual. It is a big job and if you do not do it your self would probably cost a lot more than selling the automatic truck and buying a manual truck. The manual will require different shift linkage, adding clutch pedal and parts to actuate the clutch, and you may need a drive shaft of different length. It is also common for automatics and manuals to use different rear axle ratios, and even the Electrinic Control Module and some wiring may need to be changed. Maybe that automatic is not so bad after all.
Yes, a 2004 Mazda 6 can be converted from an automatic transmission to a manual transmission. However, it is very time consuming and will cost a lot of money to do this.
Without a donor car, the cost will be enormous. This is a very bad idea. Trade cars and get a manual.
