opened door with key fob now car will not start. any idea how to reset?
I have a 2003 e500 i went for a swim with my key, its still working
to stop alarm, put key back in the door and turn it off by unlocking it. should stop alarm and the car will start.
unhook the battery for about 20 sec and the alarm will reset itself.
try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to reset the alarm.
Reconnect your horn and turn your key to unlock the door this will disable your alarm.
When the fire alarm went off and then stopped, it likely means that there was a brief activation of the alarm system followed by a cessation of the alarm sound. This could have been due to a false alarm, a malfunction in the system, or a situation where the alarm was quickly resolved.

My battery went dead. I am trying to jump start the 97 landcrusier and the alarm is going off. I did not set the alarm The car sat in the garage for two weeks and battery is dead. Alarm is set and I need to get it of to start the car via cables. help George We have a 96 Land Cruiser. The battery went dead and we dealt with the same problem when trying to recharge the battery. We discovered a toggle switch on the drivers side under the dash below the hood latch and gas levers. Flip that switch and you should be good to go. Apparently it resets the alarm.
On my 2000 E320 it was due to a sensor and control module gone bad. Had it done at a dealer so cost about a grand. Worth it after spending 1 summer on So Cal freeways during 1 hour commute...each way. 13 months later the blower motor regulator went out...it was three-fifty. Ah, the life of a Mercedes owner. Good Luck.
I also have a 2000 E320 and mine had the same problem. I thought at first that it was an integrated chip that went bad but found out through a Mercedes mechanic that's it's actually caused by a bad ribbon cable inside the speedometer cluster. Had I known that ahead of time I would have sent it off to be repaired and not changed it. good taime that's hapend with me today and i go to Mercedes servise and he fixsed aprblem thrw Mercedes computer company best regards maikel amman Jordan mop.00962788202029 you can find the answers in utube by type in "remove cluster in Mercedes-Benz" sak jinowat
