Remember always start with the cheapest solution, in this case a/c fuse.
Happened to me. Find the drier, behind drivers side headlight. Its a black cylinder with the refrigerant lines going in and out. Take the wires (they are black, 90 degree angle) off the drier switch (larger sensor at top of drier) and jump them with paper clip to see if compressor will engage. If so, switch may be bad. Also, inside of footwell, under the steering wheel area, drivers side, the evaporator temp sensor could have gone bad. You will have to remove under steering wheel cover to access temp sensor. If faulty, will not let the compressor engage. Likely cause, pressure switch.
as I understand it There appears to be a air conditioner module behind the radio in the center console which is actually tied in with two other computers onboard and the module is not sending information to start the compressor. Cost as I understand is about , are you ready? Eleven hundred ( $ 1,100.00 ) dollars. Plus labor. At least that is true for a 2003 SL 500. from Mercedes Tech.
The air conditioning compressor oil quantity for a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 is typically around 6 ounces of PAG (polyalkylene glycol) oil. However, it’s important to check the specific compressor type and manufacturer's recommendations, as variations may exist. Always consult the vehicle’s service manual for the most accurate information.
The air conditioning system is behind the dash like all other cars. The compressor, however is mounted on the engine, in the rear of the car, with refrigerant lines running up to the evaporator/condensor up front.
Yes, flared fittings can be used on air conditioning compressor lines, as they provide a secure and leak-resistant connection. However, it's essential to ensure that the fittings are compatible with the specific refrigerant and pressure requirements of the system. Additionally, proper installation is crucial to avoid leaks and maintain system efficiency. Always consult the manufacturer's specifications or a professional if unsure.
In a hermetic compressor, oil is typically contained within the compressor unit and does not directly touch the windings. Instead, oil circulates with the refrigerant to lubricate moving parts, while the windings are insulated to prevent electrical contact. However, any leakage or malfunction could potentially lead to oil reaching the windings, which could cause insulation breakdown and failure. Proper maintenance helps mitigate these risks.
Yes, you can still drive your vehicle if the AC compressor is bad, as it primarily affects the air conditioning system and not the vehicle's ability to operate. However, you may experience reduced comfort due to a lack of cool air, especially in hot weather. Additionally, a failing compressor could potentially cause further damage to the AC system if not addressed, so it’s advisable to get it checked and repaired as soon as possible.
The oil capacity for the air conditioning compressor in a 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis is typically around 8 ounces (about 0.24 liters) of refrigerant oil. However, it’s important to check the specific service manual for the vehicle or consult a professional, as the amount can vary slightly based on the compressor type and system conditions. Always ensure the oil is compatible with the refrigerant used in the system.
No they are not. However Smart and Mercedes have the same parent company, Daimler AG.
The ac compressor clutch is mounted on the front of the compressor and is a replaceable part. However depending on the complexity of the clutch change out it may be overall better to change the compressor and clutch together.
No she doesn't. If I remember the story properly; Mercedes' current husband Malachy had it; slept with Mercedes and Mercedes un-knowingly then slept with Malachy's brother, Kris. However neither Kris or Mercedes got Aids.
The compressor oil capacity for the air conditioning system in a 2008 Dodge Caliber is typically around 5.0 ounces (or about 148 milliliters) of PAG 46 oil. However, it's essential to consult the vehicle's service manual or a certified technician for precise specifications and recommendations. Always ensure the correct type and amount of oil is used during maintenance or repairs.
Yes, however for compressor life, the compressor should be rotated so as to preserve the gravitational oiling characteristics.
