yes less parts to wear
Ummm yeah! They are usually cheaper than cars with an automatic transmission
Yes it can be done, but there is really no point as it is a big job and will cost more than its worth. Plus a manual transmission is way better than a automatic. If you would rather have a automatic transmission it would be wise to just sell the vehicle that has the manual and buy a vehicle equipped with an automatic.
A manual transmission civic is more fuel efficient than an automatic transmission. That goes for just about any car.
Generally, automatic transmission vehicles are easier to maintain than manual transmission vehicles. They typically require less driver involvement and are more forgiving of driving mistakes, reducing wear and tear. However, automatic transmissions can be more complex and costly to repair if issues arise. In contrast, manual transmissions are simpler mechanically, which can make them easier and cheaper to service, but they demand more skill from the driver.
With a manual transmission you downshift to slow down in situations where in an automatic you would have to use the brakes. Using brakes more = brakes wearing faster.
No, not in the least. And maintenance on those transmissions is much more than it is on the manual transmissions.
Yes and no. A manual transmission uses less HP to turn the wheels than an automatic but you have to be able to drive it well to make up for the ease of an automatic. If you can half way drive a manual the answer is usually yes.
Sell '91 Metro manual. Purchase '91 Metro automatic. You'll be less than $500 out of pocket which is a lot less than a serviceable automatic will cost.
It all depends on the type of transmission the truck has, if it is manual than manual transmission fluid is used where if it is automatic, automatic transmission fluid is used Not always, my 91 302 with a 5 speed manual uses auto fluid, a lot of manuals do.
There are more automatics made than manuals.
A standard shift vehicle combined with good driving habits can get better fuel mileage than an automatic transmission vehicle.
If by standard you mean manual (one you shift yourself), it would be automatic. It is cheper for the car manufacturer to make manual transmission than automatic. However, since automatic cars have become so prominent many manufacturers don't charge extra for an automatic transmission.
