Yes, the 1998 Jaguar XJ8 does have a light for the clock. This light is typically integrated into the instrument cluster and illuminates the clock display when the vehicle's headlights or parking lights are activated. If the clock light is not functioning, it may be due to a blown fuse or a burned-out bulb, both of which can be checked and replaced if necessary.

I have a Jaguar XJ8 1998. the bolt pattern is 5X120
This is a very easy fix. Firstly all Jagar XJ8's that have an analogue clock DO have a bulb. To fix this, carefully remove the wood trim around the clock, don't worry, you wont snap it, as it's fixed to a metal plate behind. Next unscrew the 4 screws located in each corner of the vent fascia. you will need to carefully unhook the fascia from the drivers side first to allow room to reach the clock, this is a fiddle, but take your time. You'll notice that the clock is secured in place by 4 plastic clips, simply press down on each clip to remove the clock body (white). Here you will see that you have open the clock by further clips, once you have done this, you will see the bulb. Simply turn to remove. Reverse this process to finish the job. Hope this helps
