Mercedes W140 chassis cars have a delayed 2-3 upshift valve that is vac controlled. It delays the car going into 3rd in order to warm up the engine and the catalytic convertor faster. It is for emissions. If you remove the vac to the delay solenoid it will stop this from happening, however you will likely throw check engine lights since it has a check for the delay built into the test routine. Vibration when accelerating is probably from a worn transmission or motor mount, worn out universal joint or out of balance driveshaft.

How do you identify what the vibration is from the drivetrain in 1992 Nissan Serena?

Most commonly when you feel a vibration in the floor board , or seat the source is usually the tires are out of balance. If you notice a vibration while accelerating, but none when coasting , there's an indication it may be in the driveshaft or drivetrain. If the vibration is noticed more frequently in the dash or rear view mirror, the problem may extend beyond the tires and into suspension components. Check tires for abnormal wear or cupping which may give you an indication, alignment factors also come into play.
