you might need a new alternator. thas what happend to mine. Did any dash board lights come on and the radio start changing by itself?
That light doesn't mean that your battery needs to be replaced. It means that your battery is not being charged while the car is running. Have your alternator tested.
sounds like a fuel problem change the fuel filter first
Your belt is correctly tensioned?
If your alternator is good it should stay running until your engine dies from no fuel.
A battery is used to start a car. Once it is running, the alternator then supplies electrical energy to charge the battery as well as power the electrical systems in the car. Removing the battery while the car is running will not affect the running of the car.
it should because car is running off alternator and if you do this it will not charge battery back up
The computer's power, or its ability to stay powered on and running, is maintained by the charge in the battery. The battery's electricity is used by the computer to keep running. If there is no charge in the battery, or the battery is removed, the computer will shut off and will not be able to be powered up.
If your 2004 Kia Amanti won't charge the battery or stay running after replacing the alternator, it could be due to several issues. First, check the new alternator's connections and ensure it's properly installed. Additionally, test the battery for any faults and inspect the wiring between the alternator and battery for damage or corrosion. Lastly, consider the possibility of a faulty voltage regulator or other electrical issues affecting the charging system.
you can but it wont stay running if the battery is dead
Because the ignition is powered directly from the battery. The Gen/Alt only feeds the battery.
Sounds like a dead battery. You need the battery to start the car, but once it is running the engine runs completely off of the alternator (which also recharges the battery if the battery is still good).
One possible cause is a defective alternator, Have the charging system checked.
