The Rover v6 has 3 timing belts (cam belts) they must be changed every 90000kilometers, if the belts snap you will have to replace all 24 valves, Do not forget to replace the idler pulley as well.
chain.
The 1995 Land Rover Discovery has a timing chain.
no it doesn,t have a timing belt or chain.
I have no listing for a Land Rover Range Rover. Are you sure it has a timing belt an does not have a chain?
BELT
I believe that there is no timing chain, but a belt instead, which can be accessed behind a metal cover opposite the radiator.
To remove the timing chain on a Range Rover P38 with a 2.5 DSE BMW engine, first ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Remove any components obstructing access, such as the engine cover and accessories. Next, align the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft to maintain the correct timing, then carefully remove the timing chain tensioner and guides. Finally, detach the chain from the sprockets, ensuring to follow the reverse order during reinstallation.
it does not have a timing belt, it is a chain drive which should be good for the life of the car
If your engine is the 2.5 BMW straight 6 TD , it has a timing CHAIN. This engine is fitted not only to the BMW's, but also in the Omega, and Range Rover DSE. Hope this helps !
Set your #1 cylinder to TDC on the compression stroke.
Check the cambelt timing marks are properly aligned. Make sure you've used the right set of marks on each cam, they're different on the exhaust and inlet cams.
You change it according to the manufactures recommendations which will be at a certain mileage.
