Yes, all golfs have a flywheel. Dependant on model the flywheel can weigh between 6 and 9kg.
To reset the service indicator on a Mk 4 VW Golf, turn the ignition key to the “on” position without starting the engine. Press the gas pedal fully three times within ten seconds. Then, turn the ignition off and back on. The service indicator should now be reset.

if you're speaking of the R32 it is a 3.2L 6 cylinder with 240 horsepower. If you're speaking of a regular golf it has a 2.0L 4 cylinder with 130 horsepower. If you're speaking of the GTI it is 1.8 turbocharged 4 cylinder with 160 horsepower.
on my 1.8 gti there was a rubber grommet on the passenger side just under the coolant bottle in the firewall.

The camshaft TDC mark is located on the camshaft side of the pulley wheel. When the mark is level with the front reinforcing strip on the camshaft cover the camshaft will be at TDC.
