An Spirit engine doesnt use any spacific type of coolant, as long as its a 50/50 mix.
My 1992 Spirit does the exact same thing... its either the Coolant Temperature Sensor that screws into the engine or as in my case a faulty Temp Gauge.
It is not a direct fit.
have the cooling fans checked out.
It is under the housing that the upper radiator hose hooks to on the engine
It is inside the engine, driven by the timing belt.
under the housing where the upper radiator hose hooks to the engine
Green.
I have a 1992 Dodge Spirit and it doesnt have an Egr Valve, but that's for the basic spirit, if you have an es, or anything, it will be located on the Intake Manifold. Its not hard to spot cause they usually say EGR across the top of it.
A 1992 Dodge Dakota with a 5.2 L V8 has an engine oil capacity of 4.0 quarts.

Depending on engine it is pretty simple... I have a 2.5L 4Cylinder 1992 Dodge Spirit... First u drain the coolant. Remove Serpintine belt Remove the A/C Compressor and keep it out of the way with someone such as rope or a bungee cord, whatever you might have to keep it up and out of the way... Remove Alternator. Remove the main mounting bracket that holds the AC Compresser and the Alternator. Remove the 3 bolts holding the water pump housing to the engine block. Now all you have to do is remove the water pump from the water pump housing then do this in reverse. Installing the new gaskets and such.
To replace the thermostat on a 1992 Dodge Dynasty, first ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery cable. Drain the coolant from the radiator, then locate the thermostat housing, which is typically at the engine end of the upper radiator hose. Remove the bolts securing the housing, take out the old thermostat, clean the mating surfaces, and install the new thermostat with the spring side facing the engine. Finally, reassemble the housing, refill the coolant, and reconnect the battery.
