it is very unlikely. i have never seen a vw golf sdi from 2000 onwards without the central locking as standard. i have one the same model and bought it new, it was a standard feature on this model at least for the golf's we got in malta. js

Yes, it is a Golf but VW stopped calling it the "VW Golf... GTI". Just as VW didn't call the R32 a Golf (although it is based on the VW Golf and has the same shape and many common components).
