Check engine light means there is something not operating how it is suppose to. I highly suggest you take it to a mechanic and have it checked out before the repair bill gets way to high
With my S80 t6, it was a cylinder misfiring. I pulled the spark plugs and found the bad one. I put new plugs in and a new coil pack where the bad plug was and it runs great.
