The Econ button in a 2002 VW Passat is designed to optimize fuel efficiency by adjusting the vehicle's engine and transmission performance. When activated, it modifies throttle response and may alter the operation of the air conditioning system to reduce fuel consumption. This can lead to improved gas mileage, especially during city driving. However, the trade-off may be reduced acceleration responsiveness.
You press the Auto and Econ buttons at the same time.
