It means that the car beieves that the boot/trunk is open. Either the switch is broken or the latch hasn't closed properly.
I had a Honda balade, there is a cover that you can open from inside the boot. You must just open the boot and look where the lights are on the outside. open hatchback and at boot side of rear light assembly there are 2 screws undo both and pull light assembly towards you at the back of it bulb holders twist out stop and tail bulb then pulls straight out it is a capless bulb so just push new one straight in replace assembly and screws job done all the rear bulbs are of the capless type and will have to be got from halfords or accessory shops

To replace the brake light bulb on a 2004 Jaguar S-Type, first, open the trunk and locate the tail light assembly. Remove the access panel or cover, then twist the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it. Replace the old bulb with a new one, ensuring it's securely in place, then reassemble the tail light and close the trunk. Always check the new bulb by pressing the brake pedal to confirm it's functioning properly.
