8v.....of course.acually it is the number of valves in the head . An 8v has 2 per cylinder( one intake and one exhaust) a 16v has 4 valves per( 2 intake and 2 exhaust).
16V
An 8V engines, is a 4 cylinder engine with two valves per cylinder. A 16V engine has 4 valves per cylinder. More valves is like having bigger lungs, it will make more horsepower out of the same size engine.
yes i just put my 8v box on my 16v bolts straight on
the 16v is 150bhp and the 8v 115bhp.
You can easily define whether it is a 8v or 16v by lifting the bonnet,a 16v will have a outlet manifold on top of the engine with dohc 16v written on it.
depends on what motor 80 to 120. 8v 16v? tell year, and what motor 8v and 16v and will tell flywheel brake horse power.
16v is somewhat more prone to problems than 8v in that there is double the no. of valves to take care of than an 8v engine. However all said and done, the difference is not that much except for a bit more effort/complexity involved in 16v engine repair. State of the art is such that 16v engine will, in most circumstances, give no more problems than an equivalent 8v engine. So no worries on that front. 16v engine for the same capacity will be a bit more expensive than its 8v equivalent - but it will have better performance.
yes, if 8v for 8v or 16valves to 16v if not , huge list . see my swaps page, in my profile.
The blocks on an 8V and 16V Geo Tracker are not the same. The 8V engine typically refers to the 1.6L SOHC engine, while the 16V version refers to the 1.6L DOHC engine, which has a different design and configuration. As a result, their engine blocks have different specifications and components. Always check compatibility before considering any engine modifications or replacements.
vts is a 16 16v. vtr is 16 8v. so vts is faster
usuall engines are as follows, there are more; 1.1 1.2 8v 1.2 16v 1.4 16v 1.4 turbo 1.8 hgt 1.9 multijet
Depends on the engine. There are a number of 2 litre units (2.0 8v, 2.0 16v 'redtop', 2.0 16v ecotec etc). The best of the lot is the 2.0 16v 'redtop' (C20XE) This produces 150bhp and is a fantastic engine for easy tuning. All the other 2.0 engines will be lower than this, the 2.0 8v been the least.
