Coolant leak possibly no fluid in radiator, hence the picture of a radiator.

It is normal for a temperature light to come on in the VW Jetta when the car is started. If the light stays on, it is probably an early warning that there is something wrong with the radiator. The car may be overheating right away when started because there is no fluid in the radiator, or there is a fluid leak somewhere in the system.
If your battery is not charging properly the charging system warning light ( located just to the right of the " F " on your fuel gauge ) will light up . It is the picture of a battery
On a 1999 Ford Taurus : The oil pressure warning light is just to the right of the tachometer * just above the parking brake / emergency brake , brake fluid level warning light
The warning light that is right above the engine warning signal it looks half round with a wavy bottom and a exclamation point in the middle; what does it mean?
On a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria : If you mean the warning light just to the right of your right turn signal indicator arrow : That is your Tire Pressure Monitoring System ( TPMS ) warning light ( if the TPMS warning light is flashing , either the spare tire is in use or a malfunction has been detected in the TPM system )

Hallo.. the light is a temperature indicator. It shows something that looks like a radiator cap. Check your coolant level or whether your fans are working. Sort it out and you will never see it come on again.
