A picture of an orange car with a spanner through it, particularly on a 2001 Vauxhall Vectra LS, typically indicates that there is a fault or maintenance issue with the vehicle. This symbol often represents that the car requires servicing or that a specific system needs attention. It’s advisable to check the vehicle's manual or consult a mechanic to diagnose and resolve the issue.
To reset the service spanner indicator on a 2003 Vauxhall Vectra 2.0 DTI, turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the engine. Press the accelerator pedal fully three times within five seconds. Then turn off the ignition. Upon restarting the vehicle, the service spanner light should be reset.

The service spanner light on a Vauxhall Vectra typically indicates a fault or issue with the vehicle’s systems, often related to the engine or transmission. When the car reaches 80 mph and does not accelerate further, it could be due to a speed limiter or a protective measure activated by the vehicle’s onboard diagnostics to prevent damage. This could be linked to issues like engine overheating, transmission problems, or a malfunctioning sensor. It’s advisable to have the vehicle checked by a mechanic to diagnose the specific cause.
