Castrol Edge - this is the replacement for SLX ii - as described on the bottle. This is the oil to use for the longsife servicing option.
5w30 full synthetic. i prefer Mobil 1
Use 5W30. 5W40 diesel-rated oil would be right for a TDI.
Yes, you can use 15W-40 oil in a VW Golf TDI MK5 from 2006, but it’s important to ensure that the oil meets the required specifications for diesel engines, such as VW 505.01. However, 5W-30 is typically recommended for better cold-start performance and fuel efficiency. Always consult your owner's manual for the manufacturer's oil specifications before making a decision.
Recommended engine oil for 2.0 litre TFSI engine on VW Golf GTI is Mobil1 5W30 or Mobil1 0W40. You can use a different brand with these viscosity ratings, but make sure it is FULLY SYNTHETIC,( NOT A SYNTHETIC BLEND or a mineral based oil). I've researched and asked VW service departments because I own a 2007 Golf GTI and it's a MAGNIFICENT car!
use the passenger door.
THE OLDER THE ENGINE THE BETTER QUALITY YOU WILL NEED - I USE FULLY SYNTHETIC JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT ANY EXCESS WEAR IS COMPENSATED FOR BY THE QUALITY OF THE OIL.
In an assembly plant. from what I know the Golf is assembled in Mexico, as for the GTI, it use to come from Germany but I'm not sure if that is true today.
I'd use 10W40. It's like the universal one; use it always.
Use an oil with the VW 502.00 rating, as given in VW's update of around 2004. Commonly available ones include Castrol Syntec 5W-40 and 0W-30 and Mobil 10W-40. Valvoline Synpower 5W-40 may also be available
i have a 2002 vw golf tdi, i found a oil that i use that is approved by vw, its a castrol syntec 5w-40
Depending on what you are looking to accomplish, there are many different oils you can use. Valvoline 5W40 synthetic, mobile 1 synthetic, 5w40 Castrol synthetic are all good choices.
10w 40 recomended, but for optimum performance use 5w 30
