The Mini Cooper
BMW bikes are made by the vehicle manufacturers at the BMW group. The BMW group redesigned their profit-making strategies at the turn of the last decade. BMW is now producing small motorbikes.
Before BMW acquired the Mini brand in 1994, it was owned by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and later by the British Leyland Motor Corporation. The original Mini was launched in 1959 and became an iconic model under BMC. Over the years, ownership changed, and by the late 1980s, it was part of the Rover Group before BMW purchased it.
In 1994, Rover Group was acquired by BMW. In 2000, Rover Group was broken up by BMW, with BMW retaining the Mini brand.
MG fitted the BMW engine in the ZT-T starting in 2001, when the model was first introduced. The ZT-T was part of the MG Rover Group's lineup and utilized BMW's 2.5-liter V6 engine for improved performance and driving dynamics. This collaboration with BMW marked a significant period in MG's history, reflecting a blend of British styling with German engineering.
Originally, the Mini Cooper was British - being part British Leyland, now it is owned by BMW, therefore making it German, but the Mini Cooper will stay a British legend
BMW stands for British Motor Works. That should answer your question.
German
answer
If you are referring to the Mini Cooper it is only made by one manufacturer and thats BMW. BMW bought the remnants from the original owners of the Mini and the Rover Group which was BMC (British Motor Corporation).
the mini cooper was invented and owned by BMW Group. Certainly was NOT *invented' by BMW. "The car, whose first generation was designed by Frank Stephenson,[1] draws inspiration from the original Mini, which was manufactured by the British Motor Corporation and its successors from 1959 to 2000" THE 'mini' brand is owned by BMW these days.
