They specified a 90 weight hypoid gear oil for the manual transmissions back when they were made. It is more commonly found, and works just fine to get a 80W-90 weight gear oil or something similar. I have had great success using a gear lube additive called 'Slick 50 for manual transmissions' in these gear boxes for easier shifting.
