its a flame trap. look up bay 13 at www.volvospeed.com on how/where
Not 100% sure about the '87, but there is no PCV valve on the 1986 Volvo 240 2.3L. Flame trap and Oil trap, but no PCV.
The PCV valve on a 2004 Volvo S40 is located on the engine crankcase. It is a small rubber valve.
The PCV valve is located in the engine area on the 99 Volvo S80T6. It is important to carefully study the user manual which has an illustration of the same.
Behind the intake manifold!
check PCV, oil separator under the manifold and all pcv vacuum lines.
pcv system is clogged up.
I am presuming you mean the pcv valve, it is in the valve cover.
Did you ever find the location of the pcv valve?
in what location can I find the pcv valve on my 2002 chevy tahoe
Easy when you know which oneIf you tell me where the leak is coming from I can tell you how to repair it. I've just been through a similar problem with an 850 T5. They aren't too bad but if it's a rear main seal then the motor has to come out. Also check the pcv valve, mine was badly clogged and caused a bad oil leak, much cheaper fix! From personal experience with 850 turbos. Check/Replace oil cap $4, turbo O-ring & gasket $15, valve cover (form a gasket) and check return line hose and clamps. Volvo has special clamps. The inter-cooler and clamps on 94's are common deal.
You can find the PCV valve, on the outside of the air cleaner housing. The PCV valve will be attached to the back of the housing.
Strictly speaking it doesn't have a pcv valve it has a pcv system. Generally the part that gets plugged is the oil trap. Pretty much the whole pcv system is under the intake manifold and you have to remove it to do any work. Look on any sight that sells parts for volvos and they'll probably have a diagram of the system.
