The mass air flow sensor may be at fault.
does not have one just a map sensor
In the air intake snorkel between the air filter box and the throttle body.
clean or replace your mass air flow sensor
The MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor would be found in the air intake snorkel between the air filter box and the throttle body.
You won't find one. The 1991 Chevy S10 doesn't have a MAF sensor.
It doesn't have a map sensor, it has a maf (mass air flow) sensor instead. The maf sensor would be located in the snorkel between the air filter box and the throttle body.
On a 2003 Chevrolet S10 with a 2.2-liter engine, the mass air flow (MAF) sensor is located between the air filter and the throttle body. It is typically mounted on the intake manifold or air intake duct. You can identify it by its electrical connector and its cylindrical or rectangular shape, depending on the specific model. To access it, you may need to remove the air intake duct connected to the air filter.
a manifold absolute pressure sensor measures engine load by reading intake vacuum. a mass air flow sensor measures air flow as it enters the engine. so, they are two different sesors but both pretty much supply the same info to the ecm. they read engine load to determine how much or how little fuel is need for the engine to operate at it's best.
It is built into the Mass air flow sensor. That is where the air intake hose comes off of the air filter box and goe's to the engine. Just as it comes off the air filter box, it will be right there. The air intake duct work clamps to it. It has electrical connector hooked to it.
Yes My 98 S10 ZR2 drives fine without it, It even has more power. I plan to see what happens when i unhook the 02 sensor at the cat i emptied to see if i get anymore improvements.
On a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 with a 2.2L engine, the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor is located in the air intake system, typically between the air filter and the throttle body. It is usually positioned in a plastic housing that connects to the air intake duct. To access it, you may need to remove the air intake ducting or housing.
