The ambient temperature sensor in a Mercedes ML 350 is typically located near the front of the vehicle, often behind the grille or near the front fascia. It's designed to measure the outside air temperature and is usually mounted on or near the radiator support. In some models, it may also be found near the driver's side of the bumper. For precise location, it's best to consult the vehicle's service manual or a professional technician.
It's usually one of the wires in the MAF

Could be the temp sensor..there could also be an oil pressure sensor at the top, back,or the block.
The temp sensor is to the right of the distributor cap in the top of the manifold about 6 inches away screws into the manifold. I just replaced mine and the temp gauge now is back working
Most of them are as simple and unbolting the old one and bolting in the new one.
Most intake manifolds have 1 or 2 places to put a sensor, and you can also take a plug out of one of the heads if it's convenient.
It will be screewed into the drivers side head between the first 2 spark plugs.
There is a pipe plug in each head and at least one in the intake manifold that can be used for this purpose.
One way to fix a slow steering return on a Mercedes SLK 350 is to add more power steering fluid. Another option is to replace the steering wheel lock sensor.
