In the Mk4 Astra, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) is typically located in the engine compartment, mounted on the engine bay's firewall. It may also be found near the battery or under the dashboard on the driver's side, depending on the specific model and configuration. Accessing it may require removing covers or components for better visibility. Always consult the vehicle's service manual for precise location details.
The Astra MK4 is actually no longer in production. One may purchase a used Astra MK4 from Auto Trader. One may also use Kijiji to purchase the Astra MK4.
There are many companies and websites that can offer a Vauxhall Astra MK4 for sale. Some of these companies that offer the Vauxhall Astra MK4 are Vauxhall and eBay.

that will be your EML "Engine Management light", usually caused by the ECU receiving a fault signal from one of the many sensors on the engine, you will either need to invest in a diagnostic tool, or take your car to a Vauxhall garage that will have the appropriate systems to "flash" the codes and tell you what caused it, and to clear the code from the ECU. on the mk3 Astra it was possible to flash the codes up using the EML by using a paperclip in the right holes on the diagnostic port and also possible to clear the fault codes from the ECU by disconnecting the bettery for a short time (around 5-10 minutes if i remember correctly) but i am not sure if the same can be done on a mk4
how do you remove the ecu unit from a vauxhall astra 1.4 sl
Read the chassis number, and if it starts W0L0TGF, then yes it's a mark4. If it Starts W0L0AHL, it's a MK5. a 2002 car is probably a Mk4.
