In a W-reg Volkswagen Polo, the fuse for the cigarette lighter is typically located in the fuse box, which is usually found under the dashboard on the driver's side or in the engine compartment. It depends if you want it to be turned on when the key is on. If it doesn't matter then just find 12V in the fuse panel (before any pre-existing fuse), jump it to a open fuse spot, insert the appropriate fuse, run the other side of the fuse and you have your power. Get an inexpensive multi-meter, it will make your life a lot easier. Good luck.
The voltage is written on the fuse.
