open hood and directly on firewall is black hose coming up and looping down. It is about 3/4 in inside diameter. there is a little plastic fitting in this hose which is a valve which is controlled by air vacuum. It controls the hot water being diverted from the engine to the heater. you can pull off the vacuum hose and see if it has vacuum and you can manually actuate the valve with your finger reach around the back of this item and stick your finger through the hole and slide the valve up...have someone turn the heat on and off engine not running but with the accessories switch on key switch on you should feel or hear the valve actuating.
Actually, when the engine is not running, there is no vacuum. Engine must be running for the heater control valve to open and close if it is vacuum activated. Some heater control valves are operated by cables. These can open and close without cranking the engine.
yes
No cable, all controls are done with electric motors.
It should be in the heater blower motor case which is located under the glovebox.
there is one on the 2001 3.8l its by the firewall drivers side to the left of the power steering fluid.
under the glove compartment I was told!
Maybe because your climate control system needs to be repaired....
That is the part with the gauges.
The heater on a 1999 Caravan doesn't have a heater valve. The temp is regulated with a blend air door that is controlled by the body computer and climate controll head.
A dodge neon does not have a heater valve. The inside temp is adjusted with an airflow control door inside the dash.
The Dodge Caravan heater was invented in 1984 by the Dodge and Mopar companies. Since it's creation it has evolved into a much bigger and popular van.
it is in the heater hose close to the firewall near the master cylinder its a black plastic valve with a vacum hose connected to it
