The hood release is below(under the dash) on left side.The exterior hood release is some what tricky.It is a flat (pull) lever in the grill,(sometimes it requires a little pressure on the edge of the chrome top to get the lever to extend).
Pop the hood - it's a black box by the brake fluid tub.
You already have one. Under the hood on a placard & possibly in your owner's manual.
Under the hood, by the firewall on the driver's side in the upper corner.

there is no release you just push on the door near the hinge and it opens
Depending on whether its left or right hand drive it should be on the wall of the passenger side footwell.
Get someone to hold the hood release lever while you pull up on the hood.
The hood release is inside. Once you have pulled the release the hood opens backwards.
Its under the hood. Lift the hood, and look at the upper right corner under the hood, (Driver's side)by the firewall. Its "tucked" right in the corner. Should have a clear plastic covering on it with all the fuses visable. Hope this helped you!
Opening the hood on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am is very easy to do. The hood is opened by pulling on the hood release latch inside the car on the drivers side. After the latch is pulled the hood will release. The hood is then opened by pulling the second release under the hood.
