The 1997 Volvo 850 low pressure port is located on the air conditioning compressor. The low pressure port will be on the right hand side of the compressor.
The 1996 850 doesn't have a high pressure port. Recharging is done through to low pressure side.
This is actually a trick question. There is NO High Pressure Port on the Volvo 850 Turbo. Service is done by connecting to the Low Pressure Side and using this access to both Evacuate and Service. Chrysler for a few years did not use a High Pressure Port and required connecting a Scan Tool to the OBDII Connector and taking readings this way but Volvo does not even offer this option. Todd
The low pressure port (Suction) and the high pressure port (Discharge) are both located on the back side of the compressor.
There is no high side service port only a low side.
To add Freon to a 1997 Volvo 850 T5, first locate the low-pressure service port, usually found on the larger of the two refrigerant lines connected to the AC system. Ensure the engine is running and the AC is set to the maximum cool setting. Attach the refrigerant can to the low-pressure port, then slowly release the Freon while monitoring the pressure gauge on the canister to avoid overfilling. Always wear safety gear and consider having a professional check the system for leaks or issues if you're unsure.
you will only find a hi pressure side
Begin by connecting your Freon bottle to the low pressure port on the top of your air-conditioner compressor. Release the Freon into the compressor. A recharge kit will make this process extremely simple.
To add freon to a 1996 Volvo 850, first ensure the engine is running and the AC is set to the maximum cooling setting. Locate the low-pressure service port, typically found on the larger diameter AC line. Attach a refrigerant gauge and canister to the port, then slowly add freon while monitoring the pressure gauge to avoid overcharging. Always use the correct type of refrigerant specified for your vehicle, and consider consulting a professional if you're unsure.
under the hood on the passenger side toward the frount of the car. With the engine off look just below the windshield washer filler neck and there will be a hex shaped cap, thats it, remove and this is your low side port. Volvo 850's dont have a high side port.
look for the port with the black cap on it, it's the low pressure port.
On the ac system, the low pressure port is the smaller port. It will be located on the line coming from the dryer. The low pressure line is the larger line. it will be on it.
