Press the odometer button while starting the vehicle. Keep holding down the button until the numbers disappear and the check engine light goes out. Release the button and all is well.

Depends on what you mean by "reset". Are you referring to the counter in the dashboard odometer display? Just hold the button down for 5 seconds while the gas meter is displayed.
