To change the fuel filter on a 2005 VW Transporter 2.5 TDI, first, ensure the engine is off and cool. Locate the fuel filter, which is typically found near the engine compartment or under the vehicle. Disconnect the fuel lines carefully, making sure to catch any spilled fuel, then remove the old filter. Install the new filter, ensuring the directional flow is correct, and reconnect the fuel lines before starting the engine to check for leaks.

This depends on which 2.5 TDI form which model you mean. There are alo different types of 2.5 TDI, for example with 5 cylinders in a row, V6, different injection systems and so on. Generally, the range is from 65kW/88PS (Transporter T4, 5 cylinders, without intercooler) to 132kW/180PS (Passat 3BG, V6 TDI 4Motion).

A 1.9 TDI can hum at idle if the spark plugs foul. A clogged fuel filter can also cause this issue.
