because if the key doesnt have a battery in for a certain amount of time it looses all the immobilser codes etc. and is cheaper to have it all replaced then it is to have the key recoded.
central locking switch on the dash doesn`t work
The fuse for central locking on a Renault Clio is located under the dashboard, near the passenger side. Older models may have the fuse box in the footwell of the car.
becide intero light
it is most likely the solinode
To turn off the central locking on a Renault Clio RXE, locate the central locking switch on the driver's door. Depending on the model year, you may need to press and hold the switch in the unlock position for a few seconds. If the vehicle has a key fob, you may also be able to deactivate the central locking feature through the settings in the vehicle's manual or by pressing the unlock button multiple times. Always refer to the owner’s manual for specific instructions related to your model.
My clio has central locking, to reset the fob so it would work i got in the car and held down the locking button (next to the ash tray) until the flashing red light above the speedo went solid then still holding the button down pressed the fob then let go of both and pressed the fob again and it worked. hope this helps
you can see it on fuse box beside the driver door
to reset the FOB you get in the car, shut the doors. Then hold the cetral locking lock all button down until the doors lock and unlock. The imobilser light goes solid red. At this point you have 10 seconds to click the new unprogrammed FOB. the doors will unlock and lock. Job done
it should be in the same casing as the interior light, slide a credit card between the casing and the roof lining to unhook the catches... then it is a small board attached by about 4 wires.. looks just like a miniature camera, youll know when you get it
You do this by locking the car with the remote, leave it a few seconds then re-open and start the car after the red light has gone out on your dash.
I would just to be sure
There is either a pressure switch or metal ground that is in every door jam of the vehicle. One of those has gone bad and needs replaced.
